Hintio privacy policy

1. Who is responsible?

Platform0 is responsible for the processing of personal data when you use Hintio. This policy explains which data is processed, why it is used and what rights you have.

2. Data we process

• Game data: player names you enter, teams, scores, settings and game progress. In online games, game data is shared with other participants in the same game.
• Identifiers: device, installation and user identifiers that allow the app to recognise a device or game participant without requiring a name or email address. These identifiers do not make all related data anonymous.
• Data on your device: preferences, language, game history, custom word packs, selected pictures and purchase status.
• Usage and diagnostics: app interactions, error reports, crashes, performance information and related device, app and network information, including IP addresses.
• Notifications: a delivery identifier and related device information for sending notifications.
• Advertising: device and advertising identifiers, IP addresses and interactions with advertisements may be processed when advertising features are used.
• Purchases: purchase status and transaction information needed to provide purchased features. Payment details are handled by the app store.
• Generated content and translations: themes, words and language choices you submit are processed by external providers when you use content generation or translation. Do not include personal or confidential information in these requests.
• Contact requests: your message and contact details when you contact us.

3. Purposes and legal bases

We use data to provide games and online participation, remember preferences, deliver purchases and notifications, generate or translate content, respond to requests, and understand and improve the app's reliability. Advertising data is used to display and measure advertisements.

Providing the features you request is based on performance of our agreement with you. Maintaining reliability and responding to requests serve our legitimate interests in operating and supporting the app. Processing may also be necessary to meet legal obligations. Where applicable law requires consent, including for certain analytics or advertising activities, consent is the required basis. Reading this policy or using the app does not itself constitute consent.

4. Sharing and international processing

Data is processed by service providers for hosting, online gameplay, usage analysis, error reporting, notifications, advertising, payments and content generation or translation. Other players receive the game information needed to participate in your online game. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.

Providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Such transfers require a valid legal mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, where applicable. You may request information about the recipients and safeguards relevant to your data using the contact link below.

5. Security, retention and deletion

Data sent between the app and online services is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security.

Retention depends on the purpose and type of data: game data supports ongoing games; diagnostic and usage data supports analysis and troubleshooting; purchase records support access to purchases and applicable legal obligations; correspondence supports handling your request. Retention also depends on the relevant provider's settings and any legal requirements. You can request information about the retention applicable to your data.

You can remove local data using available app functions or by clearing app data in your device settings. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete data held by service providers or the app store. To request access to or deletion of data held on our systems, use the contact link below. We may need additional information to locate your data and verify your request. Do not send passwords or payment details.

6. Your choices and rights

You can manage notifications and app permissions in your device settings. Depending on the processing and applicable law, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

7. Children

Parents and guardians can contact us with questions about a child's data or to request its deletion. Avoid entering a child's full name or other identifying information in player names, shared game content or content generation requests. Where parental consent is required by law, that requirement also applies to the relevant use of Hintio.

8. This website and policy updates

This website does not use its own analytics, advertisements or tracking cookies. Technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser information, is processed to deliver and secure the website.

Changes to this policy will be published on this page with an updated date.
